CURRICULUM VITAE
ARTIST STATEMENT
Emily Shannon is a Melbourne professional artist who loves to experiment with bold palettes, botanical forms, and digital techniques. Nature’s inspiration informs both her art practise and direction. Her previous works explore themes of flourishing, humanity, and demography.
She is always experimenting with ways to extend her art practice sustainably in making papers, foraging inks, and crafting her own mark making implements. She has held several solo art exhibitions, ran workshops for children, developed and ran art courses, and won awards and prizes. She is currently enjoying fulfilling a large scale community art project. Her background science and education degrees steer her art making practises in exciting innovative ways often with smaller artists by her side.
