ABOUT EM
ABOUT EM
Emily Shannon is a Wagga Wagga–based artist and educator creating on Wiradjuri Country. Her practice is driven by vibrant colour, energetic mark-making, and the rhythmic patterns found in botanical forms. With a keen eye for texture, composition, and balance, she explores the natural world through a distinctly tactile and expressive lens.
Working across mixed media, digital processes, and experimental techniques, Emily’s practice sits at the intersection of art, science, and history. She creates her own papers, inks, and pigments, often repurposing organic matter and human waste to develop sustainable, innovative materials for artmaking.
With degrees in science and education, Emily is passionate about sharing her process and discoveries. She regularly leads workshops and facilitates community art projects, inviting others into creative exploration while fostering connection, curiosity, and environmental awareness.
